Following four successful previous campaigns, Tourism Northern Ireland and the Northern Ireland Hotels Federation are again targeting the Republic of Ireland market. Tourism Northern Ireland will deliver TV, outdoor, press, social media, PR and digital advertising.

Tourism NI & Northern Ireland Hotels Federation’s marketing fund open

The Federation will assist the industry in supporting this activity and securing direct business from this market. There are two different ways you can get involved in this campaign, outlined below. The targets for this campaign will be Open to Ideas and Open-minded Explorers, as detailed below.

Open to Ideas: The defining characteristic is ‘I am always open to new and energising experiences’. This group covers all ages but leans towards 35+. They are couples who want inspiration for itineraries but like to plan their own activities. They want to find gems that will unlock a great experience.

Open-minded Explorers: The defining characteristic is ‘We’re always interested in unique experiences and discovering new places of beauty & culture’. This group is typically 55+. Like high-quality accommodation, easy to organise short breaks and spa experiences.

Campaign Media Plan

Details are being finalised on the overall media plan but it is proposed to run a series of themed weeks throughout. These are set out below. Participants are encouraged to use these dates to tailor their own activities.

Week 1 - w/c 15th Oct - Derry-Londonderry
Week 2 - w/c 22nd Oct - Belfast
Week 3 - w/c 29th Oct - Fermanagh & Tyrone
Week 4 - w/c 5th Nov - Causeway Coastal Route
Week 5 - w/c 12th Nov- Down & Armagh
Week 6 - w/c 19th Nov - Belfast
