Belfast is set to host a major international business tourism forum from 21 – 24 June.

Belfast to host major international business tourism forum

Held last year in New Orleans, the Hosts Global Forum will bring over 100 of the world’s leading destination management companies and 100 of the world’s leading meeting and incentives buyers and planners to visit Belfast. This will be the first time the Hosts Global Forum has been held outside of North America.

This annual event is an opportunity for all Hosts Global member DMCs to come together to discuss industry trends, relevant topics, collaborative solutions and most importantly participate in a series of networking sales appointments.

Tourism NI has led a Northern Ireland steering group, with representation from key Business Tourism industry, to ensure all the opportunities for Northern Ireland are fully maximised.

John McGrillen, Tourism NI Chief Executive commented; “This is a fantastic win for tourism in Northern Ireland. Over 200 attendees with significant collective buying power will visit Belfast for the forum, and experience first-hand through a tailored familiarisation programme why Northern Ireland is a destination with global appeal for incentive business.

“Buyers in attendance account for approximately $2 billion in business revenue all over the world. Many of the most significant US based incentive houses will be present during the Belfast forum and the associated benefits of Hosts Global will be felt across the economy for years to come.”

Marty MacKay, President of Global Alliance added; “I believe I speak for all of Hosts Global when I say we could not be more excited to have Northern Ireland host our clients and members.   The momentum around the Forum is already growing, and we look forward to working closely with all our partners in Belfast to put together a conference full of excellent education and that showcases a destination we know everyone will fall in love with.”

The three-day event will be delivered using a public and private sector delivery approach involving Hosts Global, Tourism NI, Hastings Hotels, Moloney & Kelly, and a range of Northern Ireland tourism business who will have the opportunity to impress buyers during a series of evening networking events or a programme of discovery trips to key experiences like Hillsborough Castle, the Causeway Coastal Route and Titanic Belfast amongst others.

To fully prepare the industry to be “incentive ready” ahead of Hosts Global Forum, Tourism NI has led on a series of activities including an Incentive ready workshop, the development of a specific Northern Ireland Incentive ready brand and assets, the creation of a suite of Incentive photography and videos and an Immersive Incentive brochure which will be distributed to all the buyers attending Hosts Global.
