Belleek Pottery Celebrates 160 Years in Business
Published January 17, 2017
Ireland's oldest working pottery and one of Ireland's most visited tourist attractions Belleek Pottery will be celebrating 160 years in business during 2017.
This iconic institution has not only been making fine china and exporting it across the world for more than 16 decades, but it has also become an important tourism asset in the landscape of Fermanagh and indeed Northern Ireland over recent decades.
To mark this important year, Belleek Pottery Visitor Centre will host a series of events. Patricia McCauley Visitor Centre Manager explains, "We wanted to commemorate the 160th anniversary throughout 2017 so we have created a calendar of events linking the 160th theme.
We have launched the "160th" campaign with a special edition gift for the 160th visitor of 2017 to take our tour. On the 160th day of the 2017 (9th June) we will have a special celebratory event at the Visitor centre and our 1857th guest will also be presented with a special edition gift during the year. In April we will host our Collector Convention and of course have events planned for Easter, Halloween and an extra special Christmas event to finish of our year".
Patricia continues "We would encourage visitors to keep up to date with our activities by visiting our website www. Belleek.ie or visiting our facebook page and look forward to a year of celebration with our local and international visitors".
