Digital Tourism, which takes place in Titanic Belfast on November 24th, will bring some of the world’s leading tourism, hospitality and technology experts to Belfast to help inspire local businesses to embrace digital to fuel their growth locally and internationally.

Dozens of speakers, experts and leading digital thinkers from companies around the world will touch down in Titanic Belfast in November for the event. Previous innovators from companies like Google, lastminute.com, Expedia and Aer Lingus have showcased how their businesses have embraced the booming tourism and hospitality sector and this year is no different with companies passing on knowledge to help Northern Ireland’s local tourism businesses grow their profile around the world.

Digital Tourism is a creation of Digital DNA and will be presented in partnership with Tourism NI. The tourism event is the latest in a series of engaging and inspiring digital events from the Digital DNA team, who recently brought over 1,000 delegates to St George’s Market for the annual Digital DNA business and technology event.

Digital DNA founder and Managing Director Gareth Quinn said: “Digital Tourism is now in its third year and with every event we have the same simple aim – to make our attractions, accommodation providers, restaurants, pubs and bars famous the world over by helping business owners understand how they can use digital technology for growth. With the expenditure for tourism in Northern Ireland increasing four per cent in 2016 to 778M (DfE, 2016), tourism and hospitality is growing year on year and digital is now an integral part of this growth.

“I led a trade mission to San Francisco earlier this year and I’ve seen firsthand how popular ‘Brand Northern Ireland’ is right now and Digital Tourism is designed to help our local business owners capitalise on that popularity by positioning them for growth both locally and around the world. It’s a vision that’s shared by Tourism NI and it’s great to to have their support once again for this year’s event.”

Tourism NI Chief Executive John McGrillen, added: “Tourism NI, like Digital DNA, aims to inspire businesses across Northern Ireland to embrace digital technologies in a bid to fuel growth both locally and internationally. In recent years there has been a seismic shift within the travel and tourism industry, involving the move from traditional marketing mediums to digital and social media platforms. This is the new international tourism marketplace and it is where the whole industry needs to be if it is to grow.
