In the lead-up to The 148th Open in 2019, Tourism NI has partnered with CNN presenter and Irish golf journalist Shane O’Donoghue to promote Northern Ireland as a destination which is ‘Made for Golf’, with stunning parkland and dramatic links courses along with great value stay and play breaks.

Shane O’Donoghue tees off at Belfast’s parkland courses

Shane recently visited Belfast for the weekend and filmed a short video to promote the city as an ideal golf break  destination, playing at a number of fantastic parkland courses including Belvoir Park, Malone and Galgorm Castle Golf Clubs. The video can be viewed below.

Pictured with Shane at Belvoir Park Golf Club are General Manager Jim Cullen, BBC’s Stephen Watson and Tourism NI’s Golf Marketing Manager Leanne Rice. The vision for golf tourism is to grow its annual value to £50m by 2020 and the strategy lies in attracting high spending visitors and dispersing their spending power throughout the visitor economy.
