Meet the Buyer 2020

Preparation for Meet the Buyer 2020 is well underway. The event will be held in ICC Belfast on Tuesday 24th March. 6 pre workshop fams will be facilitated, which will feature the Signature Experience Brand demonstrators. Fam Trip themes are; “Travels through Time”, “Causeway Coast Adventure”, “Taste of Northern Ireland”, “Cityscapes & Stars”, “Giants & Gems” and “Luxury in the Lakelands”. The Operator welcome dinner will take place at Montalto Estate on Monday 23rd March and the networking dinner will be held at Belfast Cathedral following the workshop for both the operators and the Northern Ireland industry. Currently registrations are at; 154 NI tourism companies, 232 NI tourism reps, 132 Overseas operators organisations, 152 overseas operator reps, 23 ROI operator organisations, 25 ROI operator reps. A session will be held for first time NI trade attendees with Kate Taylor on 28th Jan to help them prepare for the workshop.

Explore GBNI

The Visit Britain team were in Belfast 12 – 14 Jan to conduct a site visit in advance of their event which will take place from 18 – 20 May. Reps from their events, marketing and PR teams visited all of the proposed venues including ICC and TEC and held a series of meetings with TNI, NI industry and Tourism Ireland.

Tenon Tours

Following a meeting with Liz Augnier from Tenon Tours at The Open and a further meeting between their President Bryan Lewis and John McGrillen in New York in September, Tenon Tours decided to bring their annual company team kick off event outside of the US for the first time. They participated in a fam trip which featured 4 nights/5 days in NI and 2 in the ROI. Business Solutions worked closely with Liz from Tenon Tours to devise the itinerary and also delivered a webinar to all of their US based staff on 5th December updating them on the new Experience Brand in advance of their trip. 22 of the Tenon Tours team visited numerous hotels, experiences and attractions in Belfast, the Causeway Coast and Derry-Londonderry during their trip which took place 7 - 11 Dec 2019.

Fermanagh Lakelands Showcase

FLT held a showcase event in the Spencer Hotel in Dublin on 27th November. The event was well attended by up to 50 travel trade, tour operators and media who had the opportunity to meet with a range of Fermanagh trade including; Manor House Hotel, Lakeland Tours, Blessingbourne, Lusty Beg, Boatyard Distillery, Enniskillen Taste Experience, Belle Isle Castle, Westville Hotel, Lough Erne Resort, Belleek Pottery, Killyhevlin, Erne Water Taxi, Marble Arch Caves, Enniskillen Castle and also the Fermanagh National Trust properties were represented. A number of presentations were delivered including one by Tourism NI on the new Experience Brand.

Celtic Connections

The team are set to attend Tourism Ireland’s Celtic Connections event in Glasgow on 22nd Jan. NI trade registered to attend include City Hotel Derry & Portrush Atlantic, Visit Armagh and Armagh City Hotel, Davagh Dark Sky Observatory, Holiday Inn Express Derry, Causeway Coast & Glens, Visit Belfast, Visit Derry, Hillsborough Castle, Montalto Estate, HMS Caroline, Killeavy Castle and GOT Studio Tours. 40 Operators are registered to attend and a presentation on the new Experience Brand will be delivered by the team.
