Holiday World Show 2019

Tourism Northern Ireland had a successful weekend, exhibiting at the Holiday World Show 2019.
The show ran from 25-27 January 2019 at the RDS in Dublin, and this year beat last year’s record of the biggest NI representation at Holiday World in the history of the show.
12 NI exhibitors set up in the Northern Ireland Village which allowed the public to discover the many different destinations in Northern Ireland in a convenient way.
The NI partners, which included Causeway Coast & Glens, Visit Derry, Mid Ulster District Council, Fermanagh Lakeland Tourism, Visit Belfast, Mid & East Antrim, Mourne Mountains & Ring of Gullion, Omagh and The Sperrins, Lisburn and Castlereagh, Antrim and Newtownabbey, and Visit Ards and North Down, had numerous ways of attracting attention, including competitions, impressive branding and plenty of promotional material. The NI Village was constantly busy with many enquiries on accommodation offerings and attractions in Northern Ireland. Titanic Belfast proved to be as popular as ever with the majority of queries on the Tourism Northern Ireland stand relating to it, closely followed by Game of Thrones.
The Travel Extra Media Awards took place on Friday 25th January and once again TNI sponsored the ‘Northern Ireland Travel Writer of the Year Award’. This year it was won by David Gordon for his piece ‘Navigating the North’ which featured in the Irish Daily Mail in August 2018. This was an article based on a fam trip he went on with his family to Fermanagh, organised by the ROI team.
On Saturday, Tourism NI had outside broadcast with Sunshine FM with Carol Dooley live from Holiday World. Carol interviewed Alan Greer from Hillsborough Castle and Alison O’Keeffe from Mid Ulster Council about upcoming plans and projects.
