Published January 29, 2019
What requirements does your business have today and in the future for digital, green and social skills?
People 1st International is looking for your views on the current gaps and future needs in digital, green and social skills for hospitality and tourism as part of two initiatives that aim to establish a strategy for skills development in the industry.
As a key partner of the Next Tourism Generation Alliance (NTG) - which is the first partnership and alliance for improving a collaborative and productive relationship between education and industry – People 1st International is looking for views on the future expectations towards these skills to respond to the fast-changing requirements in digital, green and social skills.
The NTG skill survey results will be used in establishing a blueprint strategy for skills development and to influence national and regional policies in the tourism sector across Europe.
In addition, People 1st International will be using the results of the survey to inform a comprehensive piece of research with businesses across each touchpoint of the full tourism and visitor experience needed as part of the response to the Tourism Sector Deal – announced by government on 27 November 2018 to attract more domestic and overseas visitors and help drive major economic growth.
People 1st International is working with UKHospitality as a lead partner in the response on the skills piece to help determine the future skills requirements across the sector from entry-level through to management.
A second-stage survey focused on operational and management skills needs will be released in the coming months determine how the industry needs to respond to the future requirements across the full spectrum of roles from entry-level through to management.
