Tourism focus soars for ABC Council
Industry Development, Armagh City, Banbridge & Craigavon
Published April 9, 2018
A steady growth rate, defined the key message at Armagh City, Banbridge & Craigavon Council’s second annual Tourism Conference at Brownlow House, clearly identifying the destination’s progress in achieving the 10% annual revenue target set for the wider tourism economy, by 2022
With a strategic focus on generating tourism spend across the national and international visitor markets through the profiling of market-leading cultural and heritage assets, including the delivery of new product development initiatives, the Borough has clearly worked actively to drive forward its tourism blueprint launched in 2017, both from a local authority level and in collaboration with delivery partners and local industry providers.
Delegates heard from a range of inspiring speakers across the tourism industry, including Tourism NI Chief Executive, John McGrillen who outlined NI’s target of doubling the value of tourism to £1.7bn by 2030, with ABC Council Chief Executive, Roger Wilson updating providers and partners on initiatives delivered to date, as well as the Borough’s approach to destination development in the long-term.
The grandeur of this splendid visitor attraction, added to the perfect setting for this successful event.
