The Heritage Angel Awards aim to celebrate unsung heroes local heritage, celebrating the achievements of those who rescue, repair, record or research the historic built environment.

The Heritage Angel Awards Ceremony will take place on Tuesday 6th November, 2018 at the Guildhall, Derry~Londonderry. The awards are a Northern Ireland, and UK wide initiative, supported by the Andrew Lloyd Webber Foundation, that aims to celebrate the unsung angels of local heritage. 15 shortlisted people and projects will be put before the judges and the winners of the 5 categories will be announced at the Northern Ireland ceremony.

Winners will subsequently travel to the London awards in late November to see who will be named overall UK Heritage Angel Award Winner, 2018. Awards categories include:

  • Best Rescue of an Historic Building or Place (under £2M)
  • Best Major Regeneration of an Historic Building or Place (over £2M)
  • Best Contribution to a Heritage Project by Young People
  • Best Craftsman or Apprentice on a Heritage Rescue or Repair Project
  • Best Research, Interpretation or Recording

The Awards are supported by the Andrew Lloyd Webber Foundation. This year’s Awards are also supported by Derry & Strabane District Council.
