Tourism NI Board visit Co Fermanagh
The Tourism Northern Ireland Board paid a visit to Co Fermanagh this week where it held its Board Meeting and had the opportunity to meet with stakeholders and partners in local government and the local tourism industry.
The Board regularly holds its meeting across Northern Ireland to gain a better understanding of the challenges facing the industry at a local level and see at first-hand the opportunities for developing new product and visitor experiences.
During a visit to the Marble Arch Caves and Cuilcagh Boardwalk, the Board were hosted by senior officials from Fermanagh & Omagh District Council and Grainne O Connor, manager of the Cuilcagh Lakelands Geo-Park.
During the visit, the Council and Geo Park teams outlined their future development plans for the site.
Following the visit, the Board hosted a dinner at Lough Erne Resort for tourism industry representatives and council officials.
The dinner gave the Board the opportunity to hear from local industry about how trade has been so far this year and also to discuss the future development potential of the Fermanagh and Sperrins regions.
Ellvena Graham, Chair of the Tourism Northern Ireland Board, said: “Taking our Board meetings around Northern Ireland gives us the opportunity to experience at first-hand the tourism offer across the country.
“This week’s visit to Fermanagh has allowed us to meet with representatives from local tourism businesses, hear at first hand the challenges they are currently facing, and explore how Tourism Northern Ireland can best support the Council and the local tourism industry realise the potential that exists in this magnificent part of Northern Ireland."
