Tourism Northen Ireland takes part in Ministerial Visit at Ulster Folk Museum

Tourism NI was delighted to support a Ministerial visit to the Ulster Folk Museum in Cultra this week.

Economy Minister Conor Murphy was invited to the museum to hear about its ambitious ‘Reawakening’ plans.

The programme of transformation aims to unlock the museum’s full potential as both a heritage and environmental resource, creating a dynamic and enriching experience for all visitors.

Mr Murphy was greeted by Kathryn Thomson, Chief Executive of National Museums NI, Gordon Milligan, Chair of National Museums NI, and David Roberts, Director of Strategic Development at Tourism NI.

During the visit, Mr Murphy was taken on guided tour through some of the museum's most beloved buildings and was also able to observe the incredible work the dedicated staff do to preserve and bring to life the rich cultural history.

The team at National Museums NI said they are enthusiastic about the future and the possibilities of the ‘Reawakening’ project.

"By enhancing our facilities and expanding our programming, we aim to provide an even greater contribution to the community, fostering education, engagement, and appreciation for our heritage.

"We are grateful for the Minister's interest and support in our vision, and we look forward to the positive impact this project will have on the museum and the broader community."
