The increased demand for Outdoor Attractions
Attraction operators need to ensure that post-covid, the opportunities for increased capacity in an outdoor space will help them on the road to recovery. The perception of safety, coupled with the likelihood of enhanced social distancing in an outdoor environment, and safety in small groups, can certainly be leveraged to maximise opportunity.
Many operators are expanding sites to capture this demand.
- Zip World, an adventure company behind the world’s fastest zip-line, is opening its first site outside of North Wales at Rhigos in the South Wales Valleys. Zip World Tower is launching with two new experiences, Zip World Phoenix and Big Red. Zip World Phoenix is the world’s fastest seated zip-line and Big Red is the world’s biggest mobile zip. A side-by-side toboggan roller coaster is also due to open in 2021, and will be the first of its kind in Europe.
- The trend for surf parks continues – Colliers has provided expertise for several projects The Wave in Bristol and Adventure Parc Snowdonia. The demand for the concept is high, with visitors willing to pay for high-quality surf.
- I’m a Celebrity… Jungle Challenge opens in 2021 in Manchester. This will be a jungle-themed experience offering tasks and trials inspired by Main Camp, Croc Creek and Snake Rock Visitors will enjoy 90 minutes of challenges, including zip wires, mazes, treetop ropes courses, climbing walls and parachute drops.
