Sustainable Tourism - Get your plan in place and tell your story.
Join Tourism NI on Thursday 13th November for this in-person Sustainable Tourism industry event at room2 Belfast, Belfast’s first Low Carbon Hometel.
The session will be led by Tina O‘Dwyer from The Tourism Space, who specialises in enabling sustainable, regenerative and collaborative approaches to tourism.
On the day Tina will share updates on the latest sustainability directives and resources to set the context for Northern Ireland in the year ahead.
The climate crisis and loss of biodiversity globally is leading to an increasing demand for more environmentally and sustainable tourism experiences. As a result, there is a need for destinations to promote themselves as sustainable to secure business in the future.
The recently published Tourism Vision & Action Plan: 10-Year Plan to 2035 recognises the important contribution which the tourism sector can make to our region’s economy. Together we can grow a tourism industry that is economically, environmentally and socially sustainable.
Objectives of the day:
- To maximise investment in sustainability, given the increased costs of doing business
- To introduce practical free supports
- To showcase local case studies and hear about successful projects.
- To learn how to tell your sustainability story to maximise investment in projects.
- To launch a new suite of e-learning modules on MyTourismNI across a range of tailored sustainability topics
- To signpost to existing supports on TourismNI.com and elsewhere.
Who should attend?
This event is free to attend and open to all in the NI Tourism & Hospitality industry – whether at the very start or well established on their Leaner and Greener sustainability journey.
